The Terminator movies have a rich history of spoiling major plot twists in trailer. The most egregious, of course, is the reveal that Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s Terminator is the good guy in T2. The film itself withholds that information until the first meeting between the two Terminators, but the trailers spoiled the reveal for audiences months before the film opened. The same could be said of Terminator Salvation, which revealed a major character was a Terminator when the film itself, once again, plays it as a straight reveal. Now with the latest trailer for Terminator Genisys, it would appear that another Terminator plot twist has been spoiled by an overeager marketing department. Seriously, if you want to avoid any potential spoilers or plot twists, it is in your best interest to avoid this trailer.
In Genisys, Arnold returns as an aged Terminator, Emilia Clarke from Game of Thrones takes on the role of Sarah Connor, and Jai Courtney is Kyle Reese. Directed by Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor, Terminator Genisys opens on July 1st, 2015.
