After last season took some quite dark turns, Arrow showrunners have said season four would be lighter in tone. With a villain like Damien Dahrk on board I’m not so sure I believe them. Announced today at San Diego Comic-Con, actor Neal McDonough will play the sadistic villain next season. A man with a serious hatred for Ra’s al Ghul, Damien Dahrk will, I’m sure, be going head-to-head with not only Oliver Queen and his band of vigilantes, but Malcolm Merlyn as the new Demon’s Head as well.
McDonough is an accomplished actor having roles in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Band of Brothers amongst others, but does he have the chops to play such a disturbed villain? Only time will tell.
Dahrk is a mysterious and sophisticated villain, and an adversary of the late Ra’s Al Ghul. Now the leader of his own clandestine group, this cunning foe will prove to be one of the Arrow’s greatest challenges.
Arrow returns October 7th on the CW.
