When Nashville was presented to me as a DVD review, I thought it would be worth giving a watch. What started out as a, “Sure, I’ll review it,” turned into a full on marathon.
Connie Britton, plays Rayna Jaymes, the reigning Queen of Country, who needs to defend her crown against the pretender to the thrown, Juliette Barnes portrayed by Hayden Panettiere.
This 21 episode, season one, five disc set is loaded bonus features, including a bloopers reel that is absolutely hysterical. The featurette of Nashville Comes to Nashville, shines the light on the heart and soul of the country music industry and, if you’re not careful, can turn you into a country music fan.
Britton has never been better and Panettiere continues to grow as an actress. The show is sexy, catty, vengeful and begs the question, “What are you willing to do to retrain your fame?”
Season Two premieres, Wednesday, October 2, 2013 on ABC at 10 p.m. and the DVD is on sale now. Pick up season one to get caught up before you get lost in what is this generation’s Dallas.
