Musician and Comedian, Morgan Jay guest stars on NBC’s hit series ‘St. Denis Medical‘, recently renewed for a second season.
We recently discussed Morgan Jay’s appearance on tonight’s episode of ‘St. Denis Medical‘, a mockumentary set in an underfunded, understaffed hospital in Oregon. The show follows a team of dedicated doctors and nurses as they try to care for patients while juggling their own mental health. In tonight’s episode, Jay guest stars as Colby Twill, a famous musician.
A first-generation American performer based in Los Angeles, Morgan Jay hails from New Jersey and started his career in New York City, where he attended the Tisch School of the Arts. With over six years of stand-up and five years of musical comedy experience, Jay has developed a unique style that combines comedy and music, influenced by his love for classic R&B and Bossa Nova. He recently became a semifinalist on NBC’s ‘Bring the Funny‘ and has performed at major festivals such as SF Sketchfest, Laughing Skull Comedy Fest, and the 2019 Big Sky Comedy Fest. Jay has also taken home first-place prizes at the 2012 Westside Comedy Showdown, 2018 Ventura Comedy Festival, and 2019 Antelope Valley Comedy Festival. Additionally, his comedy/novelty song won 1st Prize in the International Songwriting Competition, which had over 16,000 submissions.

Along with discussing his appearance, Jay and I talk about both being first-generation Americans, how important it is to live the American Dream to our families efforts to create a better life for us here and joke on how his role as Colby Twill is a stretch for him in playing a musician.
