Martial Arts and Action Legend Michael Jai White Talks About His Latest Flick, ‘Outlaw Johnny Black‘ in Theaters Friday, September 15, 2023.
Whenever I get asked to interview Michael Jai White, my typical response is, “Why are you asking? Just give me a date and time and we’ll make it work!”
White is a legend who I have interviewed a handful of times and our mutual friendship with “The Voice” Michael Schiavello has only increased the enjoyment in our conversations.
White has shown his on-screen charisma and comedic ability in such films as ‘Exit Wounds’, ‘Undisputed 2, Silver Hawk’, ‘Blood & Bone’, ‘Black Dynamite’ and Tyler Perry’s ‘Why Did I Get Married’and ‘Why Did I Get Married Too’ playing opposite Tasha Smith.
In his latest film, ‘Outlaw Johnny Black‘, White tells a morality tale, that is almost considered a non-traditional faith based film that has all the humor and charm of, ‘Blazing Saddles,’ while still entertaining us in a manner where the message is family friendly.
According to the log line: Hell bent on avenging the death of his father, Johnny Black vows to gun down Brett Clayton and becomes a wanted man in the process. He goes into hiding, posing as a preacher in a small mining town that’s been taken over by a notorious Land Baron. Yet through all of that, Black is able to seek redemption and live a more fulfilled life after his repentance.
‘Outlaw Johnny Black‘ is an incredible throwback film inspired by 1970s morality tales that draw you in and keep you laughing. If you are going to see any movie this weekend, it has to be ‘Outlaw Johnny Black‘.
