Melissa Roxburgh and Patrick Sabongui talk about their new NBC Procedural Drama Series ‘The Hunting Party‘ airing Mondays on NBC and the next day on Peacock.
NBC’s new drama series ‘The Hunting Party‘ premiered Sunday, January 19 at 7 p.m. ET/PT, with episodes available the next day on Peacock. The series debut followed the NFL divisional playoff game between the now Super Bowl bound Philadelphia Eagles and the Los Angeles Rams game.
I spoke with Melissa Roxburgh and Patrick Sabongui about their characters, Rebecca and Jacob, respectively in ‘The Hunting Party‘. They discussed how they navigate the challenge of trusting each other while investigating crimes that delve deeper into conspiracy territory.
Sabongui and I exchanged greetings in Arabic, touching upon how certain countries, like the United States have great nicknames like, “Land of the Free” and Mesopotamia being known as, “The Cradle of Civilization”, while nothing will ever top Egypt’s nickname within the Arab World that translates to, “The Mother of the World,” we made sure that Roxburgh wasn’t left out in the exchange by humorously adding, “…AND Canada has maple syrup.”
The show faces numerous moral dilemmas and grey zones, especially when it comes to working with Nick Wechsler’s character, Oliver. ‘The Hunting Party‘ is a layered series filled with complexities.
This high-concept crime procedural follows a small team of investigators tasked with tracking down the most dangerous killers the country has ever seen—criminals who have just escaped from a top-secret prison that’s not supposed to exist.
Co-showrunners JJ Bailey (creator) and Jake Coburn serve as writers and executive producers, with Thor Freudenthal as director and executive producer. Keto Shimizu is also a writer and executive producer.
An encore episode of ‘The Hunting Party‘ will air in its original timeslot on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 10 p.m., with new episodes continuing Monday, February 10, 2025, at 10 p.m. and the next day on Peacock.
