Max Beckman of Half Past Two talk about opening up the festivities at the Brew Ska Ska this Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Oak Canyon Park in Orange County, CA taking the stage at 12:30 p.m. PT.
Formed in 2006 and having toured with such acts as Reel Big Fish, The Aquabats, Less Than Jake, The Skatalites, RX Bandits, The Selecter, The English Beat, Mustard Plug, The Toasters, and Pato Banton, Half Past Two live and breath the Orange County ska scene.
Now, on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Oak Canyon Park, Half Past Two will make the 15-minute drive from their respective homes to open up the 11th Annual Brew Ska Ska, a beer and music festival that will feature breweries such as, Gamecraft Brewing CO. Greek Cheek Beer Co., Asylum Brewing, Wild Barrel Brewing Company and SeekOut Hard Seltzer, just to name a few.
We spoke with guitarist and vocalist, Max Beckman about performing for the first time in over 500 days, their first time leaving the West Coast and heading for a Ska festival in Virginia and naturally comics.
Yes, the Brew Ska Ska does take place on the 20th Anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and there is hope that the upbeat tones of the Ska concerts taking place will help people celebrate the memories of those we all two decades ago in New York and the East Coast.
