The Marvel United: X-Men Kickstarter, from Spin Master Games and CMON, is live and over 600% funded
Marvel United is one of my favorite Marvel board games. Simple yet deep and encompassing gameplay that captures the characters plus incredibly cool minis, there’s nothing to not like about the game. Especially now that the Marvel United: X-Men Kickstarter is here! If our review isn’t enough to convince you how fun and enjoyable the game is, maybe the fact that the Marvel United: X-Men campaign was funded in just 10 minutes will let you know that people really do love the game.
The new core set will bring our favorite X-Men characters plus 3 Kickstarter exclusives — Pyro, Blob, and Toad– to us for only $65. And if that’s not enough, which let’s face it, it’s never enough, The Horsemen of Apocalypse has been revealed as the first Kickstarter Exclusive “X-Pansion” Pack. This expansion pits the X-Men against Apocalypse and his four horsemen: Famine, War, Pestilence, and Death. The Apocalypse Pledge comes with the core box, Pyro, Blob, Toad, The Horsemen of the Apocalypse Expansion, and a Kickstarter Exclusive Alternate version of Storm in her mohawk look! The Apocalypse Pledge runs $100.
Personally, the inclusion of a Villain Mode and Anti-Hero Characters is incredible. Let’s face it, sometimes you’re not sure what side your own. And sometimes you just want to be a villain and beat your friends. Marvel United is giving us that opportunity. Plus that extra tease at the end screams DEADPOOL to me. So, there is definitely more to come for the campaign.
Aside from the two pledges, fans also have the option of adding the Marvel United: X-Men First Class, a double-sided X-Men playmat, plus all the other expansions, including the Kickstarter Exclusive ones, from the original Kickstarter. Spinmaster Games and CMON are giving everyone a chance to join the fun whether they are new or existing, and they are keeping the Kickstarter exciting with constant updates and the teasing of the next Stretch Goal.
