Marvel United: X-Men 2000% Funded (Almost)

GameStop, Inc.

The Marvel United: X-Men Kickstarter Campaign, from CMON and Spin Master Games, was 2000% Funded (1996% to be exact)

After an incredibly exciting Kickstart Campaign, CMON and Spin Master Games’ Marvel United: X-Men was just about 2000% funded, raising $5,988,089 dollars on a goal of $300,000 and over 25,000 backers. The campaign continuously unlocked stretch goals and added new content to the game. In total, 165 new minis are being added to the game, with various new character types: Anti-Heroes, Sentinels, and a Companion Piece (Lockheed); as well as new modes like Super Villain Mode and Team Versus Team Mode.  For those who haven’t, you can jump in on the fun and do a late pledge to claim yours.

If you don’t know about Marvel United, it’s a fast-paced and cooperative tabletop game that is easy to learn and hard to master. We’re running a 60% loss rate. A highlight of the game, and a staple of CMON, is that it has incredible minis. The minis do have a chibi-like design, but it perfectly captures the essence of every character. Below are the minis of the original Marvel United Core Box.

The original Kickstarter Campaign brought us Avenger-focused/related characters that seem to align a lot with the MCU, and now the Marvel United: X-Men campaign is bringing us Mutants and The Fantastic Four! You can see the Fantastic Four announcement in the video above.

For those who missed the campaign, the option to late pledge is still available. You can head to the Kickstarter Page to claim your copy of Marvel United: X-Men. The pledge options are the Mutant Pledge $65, the Apocalypse Pledge $100, and the Uncanny Pledge $295.

The Mutant Pledge comes with the core box of Marvel United: X-Men, all applicable stretch goals, and Exclusive Toad, Pyro, and Blob minis and cards.

The Apocalypse Pledge comes with everything in the Mutant Pledge plus The Horsemen of Apocalypse expansion, and Exclusive Hero: Storm (Mohawk)

The Uncanny Pledge comes with all of the Mutant and Apocalypse Pledge content plus, First Class expansion, Blue Team expansion, Gold Team expansion, Phoenix Five expansion, Deadpool expansion, Days of Future Past expansion, Fantastic Four expansion, and Exclusive Hero: Old Man Logan.

For an additional $220 you can purchase the expansions from the first campaign including the Kickstarter Exclusive Promo Box. Not including the playmat, upgraded cards and tokens, and other game accessories, you can get all of Marvel United, except for the original core box, for $515.

The game is a lot of fun and goes by quickly, so it doesn’t require a whole day to play, but it’s also fun enough and offers so many options that you may end up doing so anyway. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun tabletop for players of all ages and ranges.
