The Marvel Phase Two Box Set Holds Great Power

Marvel Phase Two Box Set from Amazon is a Powerful Piece for Any Collector.

The Marvel Phase Two Box Set has released by Amazon! As they did with Phase 1, Marvel released a collectible box set containing all 6 films in 3D, Blu-Ray, and Digital, as well as an exclusive bonus disc that is all housed in the base of the Orb featured in Guardians of the Galaxy. On top of the films and amazing detailed and designed center piece, the set comes with a set of “documents” that have been featured throughout Phase Two, some delightful branded knick knacks, as well as the Sokovia Accords to be featured in Captain America: Civil War.

Marvel Phase Two Box Set includes:

  • Marvel’s Iron Man 3 (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + Digital Copy)
  • Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + Digital Copy)
  • Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + Digital Copy)
  • Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + Digital Copy)
  • Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + Digital Copy)
  • Marvel’s Ant-Man (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + Digital Copy)
  • Exclusive Bonus Content Disc
  • 1:1 Prop Replica of the Morag Orb and More!

20151214_182749The main part of the box set is the Morag Orb and its pedastal. The pedastal has a slot in the back where all of the movies fit into and has a groove on the top center for the orb to be placed. The orb it self is an extremely detailed replica that likely matches the exact size and design found in the GOTG movie; the Orb is between the size of a baseball and a softball. With a slight twist, the Orb can be opened to reveal the Power Stone. Initially, the Power Stone will be sealed in a plast ziploc baggie held by the styrofoam packaging. Sadly the Power Stone does not light up on its own, instead it get’s the light from the lower half of the Orb; it can be turned on and off at the press of the button. Once all placed, it is a very impressive and appealing piece that will catch attention from anywhere in the room; the Orb and Power Stone can also be used a great cosplay prop.

20151214_183445The disc covers use the same art stylings that were used in the Phase One box set, which is brilliantly minimal and also appeasingly consistent. Each disc cover is an wide spanned image that can be seen when opened and laid flat. They also work as two complimentary art pieces to represent the film. The bonus disc feature a very well taken picture of Thanos in his thrown, however does not match the art stylings of the other cases and throws it off. The Phase One set also had an extra disc, but it featured the same art stylings as the rest of the covers which is why I find this Thanos cover so off putting.

20151214_181701The movie knick-knacks are great in the sense that it gives owners of the box set a sense that they have pieces of the MCU with them. I am personally torn with wanting to use the “Jarvis is my co-pilot” sticker on my laptop and using Ant-Thony’s encased wing as a bookmark. The detail they put in the pieces that can be found in the movies are astounding. For example, Tony’s note left for Maya Henson on the name tag has the full equation writton on the back. Also, the throughly written article on the death of Howard and Maria Stark is just a glimpse into the detail that goes into creating the Marvel Cinematic Universe. (I will place pictures of the rest of the items at the bottom of the post). My personal favorite is the Sokovia Accord document because I hope to get it autographed by the actors as I think that would be a really cool piece fan art to have on display.

20151214_181826The Marvel Phase Two Box set is a highly suggested piece for fans of the movies, comics, and avid collectors of special edition movie sets. At $184.99, you’re paying slightly more than regular price for each movie on 3D Blu-Ray, but also getting a decent amount of extra content, nifty knick knacks and memoralbilia, and an amazingly crafted statue/bust. If you just want to watch the movies, and especially if you don’t care about 3D, this would be much more expensive than purchasing the movies individually. I really only recommend buying for the more “hardcore” fans and collectors as it is pretty pricey and you can get most of the movies for under $20 each, or under $10 if you’re patient. This might make for good way to get all the movies and provide a fun toy for a child, but if you’re really looking to get a child a toy and the movies, buy the movies and buy some toys separately; it saves money and it will look like there is much more stuff.

The Marvel Phase Two Box Set can be purchased on Amazon
