Marvel Comics Shake Up – Post Civil War II Updates
Marvel Comics Shake Up Earth-616 with a lot of new in a short amount of time
Black Panther Panther: A Nation Under Our Feet – Part Two
This year’s breakout Marvel Super Hero – the Black Panther – has the second installment of his monthly video series released. Delve into the history and lore of the character, repackaged for a new audience. This month’s video Black Panther: A Nation Under our Feet – Part Two features commentary for Black Panther writer, The Atlantic national correspondent and National Book Award winner, Ta-Nehisi Coast. It also features a brand new track by Prodigy of Mobb Deep, featuring Mark the Beast, Beast With It. Prodigy of Mobb Deep shares his thoughts on the project:
“I am honored to be a part of another cool project from Marvel Comics and this new video series is going to be a smash. Black Panther has always been one of my favorite Marvel characters and the new series is destined to become a huge hit — Ta-Nehisi Coates really did his thing with this one!”
Marvel’s EIC also weighed in:
“Comics and music are two art forms that continually speak to one another, and with Ta-Nehisi and Brian Stelfreeze’s epic series flying off the shelves, we are doing just that. It’s our honor to partner with the legendary Prodigy for this latest installment.”
Watch the latest installment below:
After the events of Civil War II, the Marvel Universe is fractured. S.H.I.E.L.D can no longer be trusted. The United States is without a super-spy agency with their best interests at heart, and that’s where the U.S. Avengers come in!
Roberto Da Costa, billionaire playboy but not a philanthropist, has formed an all-new A.I.M. This A.I.M. is endorsed by the government and positioned to replace S.H.I.E.L.D. as the United States’ protector from the outlandish threats of the universe. The New A.I.M.’s mission: save the world and have fun doing it!
The U.S. Avengers roster features the All-new Iron Patriot, tomorrow’s Captain America today, Red Hulk, Cannonball, and the unbeatable Squirrel Girl. This promises to be the most “America” a comic can get. Series editor Tom Brevoort says,
“U.S.Avengers will be a bold, brawny book that will distill everything that you love about and everything that you fear about this great land of ours into twenty pages of high-octane patriotic action every issue.”

Civil War II will have every team fractured, heroes who once stood together, now stand in opposition. Tired of the bickering of the heroes of today, the heroes of tomorrow decide to step forward. Get ready for Marvel’s CHAMPIONS. Mark Wald and Humberto Ramos join forces to bring the brand new super team for the new era. A supreme teen team who don’t adhere to the antiquated dated methods of the past. Marvel’s CHAMPIONS will feature Ms. Marvel, Miles Morales, Viv Vision, and the Totally Awesome Hulk. “To their mind – the reputation of super heroes has taken a very public beating and they’re very intent in proving to the world that super heroes still have value and still have relevance,” says series writer Mark Waid, in an interview with Marvel.com.

Invincible Iron Man
With Civil War II leaving huge holes to fill, new heroes are rising up to the call. In comes Riri Williams as the Invincible Iron Man. Riri made her debut earlier this year in the pages of Invinvible Iron Man, and will later explode into the pages of Civil War II and into her own, self-created, armor. This doesn’t mean Tony Stark is gone, but it also doesn’t mean he isn’t…
Brian Michael Bendis told TIME this,
“We’re in the middle of a very big Tony Stark storyline – actually three storylines converging. His best friend died, his company is collapsing and he’s finding out who his biological parents were all at the same time. How that all shakes out such that Tony is no longer in the armor? You’ll have to wait to find out for the end of Civil War II. But it does create a path for Riri Williams, who Tony will know and will be interacting with very shortly in the comics.”

Death of X
The X-Men and the Inhumans were bound to clash. The Inhumans saving grace is a death sentence to Mutants. Also, where has Cyclops been? The culmination of the tension, the strife, and the literal racism, will play out in the new 4-issue series Death of X. Superstar creators Jeff Lemire (Extraordinary X-Men) and Charles Soule (Uncanny Inhumans) are joined by fan-favorite artist Aaron Kuder (Action Comics) for an incendiary tale that will change the course of Mutantkind and Inhumanity alike!
“Right now things are not good for mutantkind,” says Jeff Lemire, speaking with Entertainment Weekly. “On the flipside, Inhumans have been growing and becoming more prominent in the Marvel Universe. There is a lot of tension between these characters about that…’
“For both sides of this, it doesn’t affect just a small group of them,” continues Charles Soule. “It’s not just their livelihood and way of life but their very lives at stake, so they’re going to react the way you think they would.”

The Marvel Comics Shake Up can be summarized like this, “Out with the old.” New Iron Man, New Teams (other than Avengers), New Generation. I am very excited for the new changes, but I am a bit upset that now I have general ideas of the direction of Civil War II…
