After a couple of lackluster months Loot Crate returns to form with February’s Dead theme. Much like Carolina Panther bandwagon fan, Deadpool has amassed a huge following over the past couple of years. Whether it’s because of the hundreds of Deadpool cosplayers at any given convention, or the so-so video game, thoughts of Deadpool can give even the most jaded fan a heavy craving for tacos and chimichangas. I was never a huge fan of the character, he was more ancillary for me, but that all changed with the phenomenal and filthy performance by Ryan Reynolds as the merc with a mouth. So after I saw the movie I jumped on that bandwagon and was excited to see this box arrive in the mail.
In the box you get a cool figure that is somewhere between his standard character model and those awesome baby X-Men covers we get from Skottie Young. This promptly made it’s way onto my collectors shelf and with limited space remaining that is quite an honor. The Deadpool Tacos shirt was quickly worn, it’s made of the light, breathable material I like in my shirts and of much better quality than the previous 2 months tees.
The other two items from this box that need to be mentioned are The Walking Dead Zombie Construction set and the soap on a rope ear necklace. I am a huge Walking Dead fanboy, having seen every episode, read all the comics and played all of the (good) games. But I lost out on both of these items to my kids who are obsessed with zombies, yes I have strange daughters. My 5 year old quickly built the zombie construction kit, complete with noises and roleplay. They then bathed with the soap ear necklace, my 3 and 5 years old squeling with delight, I told you they are weird. This is one of the things that is so much fun about a good Loot Crate, there is something in there for the whole family or to trade with friends.
