After the last few Loot Crates I received, I canceled my subscription feeling disappointed. You’d think I’d learn my lesson and stop gambling my money away on mystery boxes and bags, but no. Loot Anime is Loot Crates specialty box geared more towards the anime/manga fan and I happened to get an opportunity to check out March’s Loot Anime box. How did my disappointment fare this time?
Actually, I am quite pleased with this box.
Maybe it’s the fact that I enjoy anime, manga and other Japanese-y things, but I quite enjoyed everything and actually knew what everything was. Well, maybe not the socks. Not a big fan of long socks. March’s Loot Anime theme was duel so it feature items from series with…duels.
First up: the t-shirt.
The shirt features none other than Ultraman fighting a giant beast celebrating 50 years of Ultraman.
Next: the socks.
The socks feature a design based on Yugi’s Millennium Puzzle from the original Yu-Gi-Oh.
A hat!
Based on Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure The Animation, the purple and black hat features Jotaro Kujo. This happened to be the only item from a series I know pretty much nothing about. It looks cool though, so that’s a plus.
OBJECTION!
An exclusive business card case emblemized with the logo for the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series. The only problem with mine was the trim on the side of the briefcase was coming off, but nothing some super glue won’t fix. Carry your business cards the “Wright” way. Heh…
I’ll see myself out.
Non exclusive item!
The only non exclusive item in the box is the anime deck 2 expansion deck for Skybound’s Superfight card game feature characters, traits, and scenarios commonly found in anime. Who’d win in a fight: Space Dandy who freaks out around the opposite gender and ate too much crab and is now half crab or Satsuki who turns into a duck when surprised and can hypnotize anyone who sees their sword?
The Loot Crate….thing.
So in the normal Loot Crate you used to get a button, which got replaced by a pin, that represents that month’s theme. Here you get a phone charm. Because everyone like phone danglers.
The maga…zine?
No magazine here. Here you get a poster, which is kind of a bummer since I actually read through them.
So yeah, that was March’s Loot Anime: Duel edition. Some pretty good stuff in there. 4.5/5. Would return.
Loot Anime March 2016 - Dual
The Verdict
Loot Anime seemed a lot better than normal Loot Crate. That could just be me though. A nice variety of actually useful things as opposed to little toys and trinkets.
