Military Veteran, Liz Carmouche Talks About her Co-Main Event Bout at Bellator 261 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT.
Military Veteran, Liz Carmouche, United States Marine Corp. Retired, talks about her Co-Main Event bout at Bellator 261 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT, tonight live on Showtime at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
United States Marine Corp. Veteran with three tours of duty in the Middle East and the No. 5 ranked pound-for-pound women’s fighter Liz Carmouche (15-7) steps in the Bellator cage against Japanese Judoka and No. 3 ranked flyweight Kana Watanabe (10-0-1) during the co-main event of Bellator 261 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT.
Carmouche is coming off two back-to-back wins against DeAnna Bennett via a rear naked chock submission at Bellator 246 and Vanessa Porto via unanimous decision at Bellator 256, with both her previous fights having taken place at the Mohegan Sun Arena during Covid-19.
“You know, what Covid taught me is to take more time for recovery. The cryo was closed or other rehabs and how to work around it at home to take care of myself and help me reevaluate what’s important in life, giving me the drive to do more,” said Carmouche during fight week.
Carmouche’s opponent received her one and only draw against Yukari Nabe at Deep – Jewels 19 in 2018 and has won both her Bellator fighters.
“Come fight night, you’ll see why she’s a judo black belt and why I have been in the game so long in the co-main event,” said Carmouche.
The Bellator 261 prelims will stream live on their YouTube Channel and Pluto TV beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT. The Bellator 261 main card airs on Showtime at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT.
