Netflix has been producing some of the best comedy and drama of the past year or two. With shows like The Unbreakable Kimmie Schmidt and Orange is the New Black breaking rules and boundaries, we know they deliver quality without compromise.
Maria Bamford has been producing some of the most quirky and ecclectic stand-up of the past decade. As part of the Comedians of Comedy, she easily went toe to toe with comedy favorites of Patton Oswalt and Brian Posehn, and kept the laughs coming.
Now these two comedy behemoths are teaming up fora new Netflix original comedy series, Lady Dynamite. The occasionally surreal show refracted across multiple periods of her life is based on what Bamford has accepted to be “her life”, as she loses, and then finds, her shit. Netflix has ordered 13 30-minute episodes to air some time next year. Lady Dynamite will be executive produced by Bamford, Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz, and long-time South Park player Pam Brady.
