Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment does it again with Justice League: Throne of Atlantis. Adapted by Heath Corson from the Geoff Johns’ run on Justice League, Throne of Atlantis follows the journey of Arthur Curry, AKA Aquaman (Matt Lanter), of mourning his father’s passing to finding out he’s of the royal bloodline to the lost city of Atlantis.
Things don’t go smoothly as his brother Orm, AKA Ocean Master (Sam Witwer), whose only goal is to rule the kingdom and will stop at nothing to gain the crown, decides to go to war with the surface world. It is now up to Superman (Jerry O’Connell), Batman (Jason O’Mara), Wonder Woman (Rosario Dawson), Flash (Christopher Gorham), and the rest of the Justice League to stop Ocean Master and help Aquaman ascend the throne to create peace between both worlds.
Corson is the ultimate fanboy. You can just tell that he loves everything about these characters and has a magical touch with dialog in bringing them to life. Voice Director Andrea Romano has one of the best ears in the business. Even after speaking with Witwer, you forget he’s Ocean Master. He’s just that good.
This feature is entertaining, violent and everything else you want in a DC animated feature.
