Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is set to show us what was on the other side of the island this September on Netflix
I used to seriously doubt that people would go to a place that is obviously dangerous before it was ready to open. Then reality happened and my new found respect for Jurassic World was found. Jurassic World appears to be living up to the promise of its name with Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. DreamWorks Animation along with Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment is poised to show us the other side of Isla Nublar. The series is set against the timeline of the Jurassic World film and follows a group of six teenagers trapped at a new adventure camp. As the events of the movie unfold, the kids will be dealing with their own set of problems caused by the break out of Indominus Rex. The kids have only themselves to rely on and must band together to survive.
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous will be executive produced by: Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow, Frank Marshall, Scott Kreamer, Aaron Hammersley and Lane Lueras. The series showrunners are Scott Kreamer and Aaron Hammersley. The show will have the voice talents of Paul-Mikél Williams as Darius, Jenna Ortega as Brooklynn, Ryan Potter as Kenji, Raini Rodriguez as Sammy, Sean Giambrone as Ben, Kausar Mohammed as Yaz, Jameela Jamil as Roxie, Glen Powell as Dave.
I am pretty excited to see the expansion of the Jurassic World franchise. I get the feeling there is a lot of depth to it that the films just don’t have enough time to dig into and series like Camp Cretaceous will act like The Clone Wars and Rebels to Star Wars. Plus, the little kid who loves dinosaurs still lives within all of us. I seriously doubt any one of you is actively thinking, “There should be less dinosaurs on TV.”
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous will have all 8 episodes available on Netflix on September 18th, 2020.
