Jupiter’s Legacy First Look Trailer brings Frank Quitely’s incredible art from his, and Mark Millar’s, comic to life

Netflix released the Official Jupiter’s Legacy First Look Trailer, bringing Frank Quitely’s art from his and Mark Millar’s comic book to life. In the stunning visual teaser, we get to see the images go from Quitely’s pen to fully crafted stills of the show. It’s a really captivating trailer and definitely builds my interest. Personally, I never read the comics so I’m going in with no preconceptions and very excited for the series premiere May 7, 2021 on Netflix. But also, being so oblivious, I’m missing all of the subtle nods, easter eggs, and allusions, so feel free to tell me about them. Might get me to read the comics. However, I know my lack of familiarity with the source material means I can’t do more than gush and awe over the visuals, so here’s a little more information from Netflix:

The season’s most terrifying villain, Blackstar (Tyler Mane), comes to life. Hutch (Ian Quinlan), son of one of the world’s greatest supervillains and Chloe Sampson (Elena Kampouris), daughter of the world’s greatest superheroes are introduced. Sheldon Sampson (Josh Duhamel) in 1929 is revealed; and his future son, Paragon/Brandon Sampson (Andrew Horton). Finally, the first generation superheroes Lady Liberty/Grace Sampson (Leslie Bibb), The Utopian/Sheldon Sampson (Duhamel) and Brainwave/Walter Sampson (Ben Daniels) are unveiled. [via Netflix]
