June Geek Fuel Review

June Geek Fuel Review

Here it is our June Geek Fuel Review!!! This month’s box was packed. We got SherlockTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Pokemon, and Super Mario. I am constantly amazed by the IP (Intellectual Properties) Geek Fuel has access to, as well as how creative they are with their merchandise.

June’s box of Geeky Goodness was filled with properties, however, the creativity kind of hit and missed. So the June Geek Fuel Review will be divided into lows and highs.

Lows

The Yoshi Stamp and the Pokemon Tatoo. These feel like gumball machine prizes you get at the store. They would be great for young children, but even they know these are cheap trinkets that are okay to lose or chuck at a sibling (as my niece did to my nephew and I regret not capturing that moment). Out of the Geek Fuel boxes I have seen so far, these might be the lamest inclusion so far.

Highs

On the opposite side, the EXCLUSIVE limited printed Sherlock comic is a boss piece. Collector’s item for any fan of the show. PLUS, a certificate of authenticity! I don’t know why that makes it better, but it does! Then we have the Big League Pikachew shirt, which hits all kinds of nostalgia all at once. This hit a personal spot with me because I got into little league and Pokemon at roughly the same time. I would come home from school, watch Pokemon (as it was a daily show at the time) and do homework, then go to little league practice. Little league was all about Big League Chew gum because it made it look like we were chewing whacky tobacky. This shirt hit me right in the childhood.

Finally, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle themed stress Pokeball. I don’t know why this is so cool to me. I love the Ninja Turtles and am a moderate fan of Pokemon, this item is just a great piece to leave on my desk. Looking at it makes me smile on the inside.

The Rest

Every Geek Fuel Box comes with a Steam game. This month’s game is Bit Revolution. I haven’t had the time to play it but it sounds cool. Lastly, the Super Mario Pipe Plant Pot. I’m sure that’s not the right name for it, but it is a very accurate description. I am not big into plants, so this has no real “umph” for me. However it is a very well crafted item and would be a perfect gift for that gamer gardner in your life.

Overall

Personal attachments aside, it is a very balanced box. The T-Shirt, exclusive Sherlock comic, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Pokeball make the box worth the price. However, the dinky stamp and tatoo are really disappointing. If they had given the full set of stamps and tatoos I think it would have made this the best box yet. My biggest disappointment, this is completely personal, is that I have only 1 of 4 of the Pokeballs. Now I have to scheme about getting the rest. These boxes sell out fast, so be sure to head over to GeekFuel.com to get your July box before they run out!

Watch me unbox the swag and get a closer look in the video below.
