Jon Peterson Talks P3 Theatre Company & ‘Jekyll and Hyde: The Musical in Concert’ – Interview

GameStop, Inc.

We Spotlight P3 Theatre Company by having a conversation with Founder Jon Peterson about ‘Jekyll and Hyde: The Musical in Concert‘.

As the cultural landscape of Long Beach continues to flourish, P3 Theatre Company is making waves with its commitment to inclusivity and excellence in the arts. We recently had the opportunity to speak with Jon Peterson, the Executive Artistic Director and Founder of P3 Theatre Company, about the company’s mission and their upcoming production of ‘Jekyll and Hyde: The Musical in Concert‘, scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 4 PM. The performance will take place at the Los Altos United Methodist Church, located at 5950 E Willow St. Long Beach, CA.

P3 Theatre Company is built on a passionate platform that aims to enrich and educate both actors and audiences. Their commitment to producing progressive and groundbreaking works reflects their goal to be accessible to the entire community, particularly those facing economic or medical challenges. Peterson elaborated, “Our mission is to ignite a spark in our diverse community through creative programming that explores humanistic truths. We want to provide an enriching theatrical experience for everyone, without bias.”

P3 Theatre Company’s pragmatic approach ensures that all productions are of the highest quality, with professional standards that inspire and enlighten. Peterson emphasized the importance of inclusivity in the theater, working with teens, marginalized demographics and people that want to study theatre arts. We joke in our interview about never working with pets and children to which Peterson quips, “That’s why you aren’t seeing us doing, ‘Annie‘.”

With over three decades of experience in the performing arts, Peterson’s credentials are impressive. He has performed in national tours, regional theaters, and even on cruise ships, showcasing his versatility across various stages. Some of his notable roles include Peron in ‘Evita‘, Al DeLuca in ‘A Chorus Line‘, and John Utterson in ‘Jekyll and Hyde‘. Recently, he debuted his world premiere cabaret show, *The Theatre is a Lady*, further solidifying his artistic footprint.

P3 Theatre Company is gearing up to launch its first season this September at the Ernest Borgnine Theatre, promising to be a cornerstone for local artists and audiences alike. As they prepare for ‘Jekyll and Hyde‘, Jon is enthusiastic about bringing this compelling story to life, underscoring its themes of duality and morality that resonate with contemporary audiences.

With their dedication to the arts and a vision for a more inclusive community, P3 Theatre Company is poised to make a significant impact in Long Beach. Mark your calendars for October 26, 2024, and experience the magic of theater with ‘Jekyll and Hyde: The Musical in Concert‘.
