Joel Kinnaman talks about his new action film, ‘Silent Night‘ directed by John Woo, out in theaters today, December 1, 2023.
Joel Kinnaman (Suicide Squad, RoboCop, Sympathy for the Devil) puts the ‘silent‘ in his new action film, ‘Silent Night‘, directed the legendary John Woo, out in theaters today.
Kinnaman talked to us about Mustangs (which the producers, that always put together the John Wick franchise have a great affinity for), his method for getting into character in only being able to use his physicality to tell the story of Godlock and what it is like working with John Woo.
What makes ‘Silent Night‘ fun is that although Kinnaman cannot talk in the film, his acting is exceptional, as he expresses all his frustrations physically, almost a throwback to the silent era mixed in with the brooding heroes of 1950s cinema.
‘Silent Night‘ is everything you want in an action movie and more over, what you don’t want to miss when it comes to a revenge story. Action films have been lacking as of late and ‘Silent Night‘ could be the film to revitalize the franchise, something the industry really needs right now.
Find out more about the film and in our interview above and what fun actions movies are supposed to be like in the 21st century.
‘Silent Night‘ is out in theaters today, December 1, 2023.
From legendary director John Woo and the producer of John Wick comes this gritty revenge tale of a tormented father (Joel Kinnaman) who witnesses his young son die when caught in a gang’s crossfire on Christmas Eve. While recovering from a wound that costs him his voice, he makes vengeance his life’s mission and embarks on a punishing training regimen in order to avenge his son’s death. Full of Woo’s signature style, Silent Night redefines the action genre with visceral, thrill-a-minute storytelling.
