Protect your shelf from the Covenant – J!NX Halo Vinyl Review

Prevent the Covenant from making your space boring with the new J!NX Halo Vinyl Designer Series – Master Chief Halo Vinyl Review

Jinx Inc. (stylized J!NX) is known for their amazing products of extremely popular, and somewhat nerdy, IPs. The Master Chief Halo Vinyl Designer Figure is a perfect embodiment of that. For the full specs of it click here. The Master Chief Halo Vinyl figure is perfect for any fan of the series.

The figure stands at 6″ tall and is amazingly detailed, capturing all of the protrusions and gaps of Master Chief’s armor. The glare on the visor and the rivets in the weapon just exude the care and attention that went into this figure. Also, it isn’t a completely still figure as the arms twist a little bit to change the angle the Chief holds his AR and his head swivels to take aim. It allows for some change in look, but really only aiming the weapon and holding it at the ready. Trying any other position just makes it seem like the Chief’s body got mangled by a Banshee crash.

The overall design is impressive, it falls right in the middle of chibi and direct rendering. It looks bad a$$ yet kind of cute at the same time. The proportions of the body and legs keep it grounded and realistic, while the large head helps give it that cartoonish feel that make it more appealing for a general audience. It’s a great example of interpreting a highly recognized character and taking a unique approach to it.

The Master Chief Halo Vinyl figure, as well as the Spartan James Locke figure, runs for $24.99 and can be picked up at Best Buy. Variant editions are also available for the same price at GameStop. I think the figure is worth the price, especially considering the amount of detail and artistry that went into it, compared to a Pop! Vinyl Figure. Not that I don’t enjoy Pops, but the amount of artistry greatly varies and it usually lands on the side of basic. The J!NX vinyl designer series is easily 3x more detailed and run about 2x the price. However, it’s probably only worth it if the purchaser is an adamant fan of the franchise. By Adamant I mean played more than one game. If they’re passive fans, buying them 2 pops might be better.

J!NX’s Master Chief Halo Vinyl Designer Figure is a great collector’s item for fans of Halo. The figure is masterfully designed, incredibly intricate, and very reasonably priced. It’ll be the perfect piece for your desk/shelf/mantle that not only looks awesome but also protects your space from a Covenant attack. I’ll give it a 4/5 stars for my Master Chief Halo Vinyl Review.
