Even when you get older, you’ll float, too. Or would that be you’ll float two? I only ask because today brings us the first teaser for It Chapter Two, the highly anticipated sequel to smash hit Stephen King adaptation. It director Andy Muschietti returns to helm the screenplay adaptation from Gary Dauberman. This time, it’s 27 years later and the Losers Club has all grown up. But evil still haunts the town of Derry, and it’s up to these adult losers to solve the mystery behind the killer clown Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård).
Playing the adult versions of the kids from It is an all-star cast that Muschietti has asssembled, headlined by James McAvoy as Bill, Jessica Chastain as Beverly, Bill Hader as Richie, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike, Jay Ryan as Ben, Andy Bean as Stanley, and James Ransone as Eddie. Because It Chapter Two is a collision between past and present, the younger actors for the first film will also be reprising their roles: Jaeden Martell as Bill, Wyatt Oleff as Stanley, Sophia Lillis as Beverly, Finn Wolfhard as Richie, Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben, Chosen Jacobs as Mike, and Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie.
This first teaser for It Chapter Two is some A+ work, giving almost a full scene with just enough skin-crawling detail and freaky moments that it pulls you right back into this world of supernatural murder and mystery. Warner Brothers will be releasing It Chapter Two in theaters on September 6, 2019. Thankfully, that gives us plenty of time to find the strength to endure the latest chamber of horrors from the mind of Stephen King and eye of Andy Muschietti.
The official synopsis for It Chapter Two:
Because every 27 years evil revisits the town of Derry, Maine, “IT CHAPTER TWO” brings the characters—who’ve long since gone their separate ways—back together as adults, nearly three decades after the events of the first film.
