Our interview with the Founder/CEO of Hero Trainer, the app that rewards gamers with gift cards/currency/content for working out, out of game.
Hero Trainer, the only fitness app to reward trainers. This app rewards gamers for working out with gift cards, in-game currencies, DLC packs, and more gaming goodness basically for taking their recommended daily steps. I did that math, you can easily get about $25 a year for taking your daily steps, and that’s not including bonus points you get from guild competitions. I’m a recent user of the app, along with much healthier friends, and we’re in the top 5%. If the guild competitions happen every other month, and we keep pace, we’ll get well over $50 a year, or both Smash Bros. Fighter Passes and a $25 gift card.
But back to Hero Trainer and its Founder/CEO Yash Jain. Yash is no stranger to lapses in one’s fitness goals. It gets boring, especially when it doesn’t seem to go towards anything. But he recognized he tends to do focus more on his characters in games and the lengths he’ll go to improve those characters. So he decided to gamify fitness. Now you can level up yourself to level up your characters in your favorite games. Currently, the app is directly connected to get you game content for Minion Masters, Call of Duty, Apex Legends, Elder Scrolls Online, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Destiny 2, Borderlands 3, Warframe, and Minecraft. You also have the option of getting gifts from Riot, Blizzard, Steam, Playstation Store, Microsoft Store, Nintendo eShop, Apple, and Google Play. Even if your game isn’t directly covered, you’re covered with a gift card.
We also spoke to Yash about what else the Hero Trainer team plans to bring to the app. Expansions on the character creation and utilization, more avenues of exercise inclusion, in-game events, and more.
Hero Trainer is, in my opinion, a genius app that gamifies fitness and will help users level up in-game and in-life. Physical health contributes to mental health, which affects your gaming and I think it’s brilliant how Yash Jain and his team are addressing that.
