With Insidious: Chapter 3 lurking around the corner, Focus Features and Cinemand collaborate to present a creepy new version of Tiny Tim‘s classic “Tiptoe Through the Tulips” by Cherry Glazerr. The video was directed by Cinemand founder Michael Gallagher and stars a number of popular personalities from Vine and YouTube, mainly Meg Deangelis and Eric Ochoa. While Glazerr’s rendition is fairly creepy, it’s nowhere near as unsettling as Tiny Tim’s high-pitched vocal vibrato. In a certain way, it reminds me of a lot of horror movie remakes — a valiant effort that can never be as terrifying as the original. And let’s face it, Tiny Tim is terrifying. But Insidious: Chapter 3 is not a remake, and this video is just another effort to let the people behind the film let their fiend flag fly. Along with the 4D Experience that is touring the country, the audience for Leigh Whannell‘s film may all very well be scared to death by the film’s June 5th release date. But, seriously, how are you gonna be scarier than Tiny Tim?
