The nature of entertainment is changing all around us at a rapid pace. Starting with Netflix, streaming services are no longer content being a platform for other networks and studios – they’ve been expanding into the world of original programming. The latest streaming service of late to really make a splash in this new expanding marketplace is Hulu. Most recently, the streaming service has struck deals to acquire every episode of the landmark sitcom Seinfeld and just rescued The Mindy Project from cancellation. But the streaming service has just announced premiere dates for the original programming for this summer, including dates for East Los High, Difficult People, and The Hotwives of Las Vegas.

East Los High

One of the first original series to debut on Hulu, East Los High returns for on Wednesday, July 15th to debut its third season. The drama which centers round the life of teenagers growing up in East Los Angeles stars Gabe Chavarria and Danielle Vega.

The official synopsis for East Los High:

The Hulu Original returns for a third season with an even hotter mix of love, dance, sex and true-to-life drama.  Camila finally confronts a dark secret from her past.  But in trying to keep her sister and boyfriend from harm, Camila risks losing her own life and her one true love.  Meanwhile, the stakes are higher than ever when Ceci invites boys to join to the Bomb Squad and the sexy new team dances their way through the tough streets of LA, where unexpected romance and danger make this yet another addictive year at East Los High.

Difficult People

Of all of Hulu’s recent acquisitions, none seems more promising than Difficult People. The comedy, executive produced by Amy Poehler, stars Julie Klausner and Billy Eichner as caricatures of themselves. Fans of Parks and Recreation will recognize Eichner as Craig from the series’ last couple seasons. If you’re really cool, you’re probably a fan of his demented show Billy on the Street. Julie Klausner is probably best known for her podcast How Was Your Week, but she’s appeared in variety of comedic shows and podcasts. For more information on Difficult People, check out her recent appearance on The Best Show, which also perfectly highlights her varied comedic talents.

Difficult People starts streaming weekly on Wednesday, August 5th.

The official synopsis for Difficult People:

Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner star as best friends living in New York City. Their typical, irreverent behavior lands them in some very awkward situations.

The Hotwives of Las Vegas

The absurd excess of reality television naturally borders on parody. Moving from Orlando to Vegas to mock the exploits of exploitative television, The Hotwives of Las Vegas returns to take more potshots at “reality” television. The comedy series stars Casey Wilson and Angela Kinsey and an expansive roster of even more Hotwives. The series, executive produced by The League’s Paul Scheer, starts streaming its second season on Tuesday, August 18th.

The official synopsis for The Hotwives of Las Vegas:

The second season of Hotwives brings us to Las Vegas: a city where dreams and fortunes are made every day, along with hundreds of new cases of herpes. We’ll meet a fresh batch of real Hotwives loving and clawing their way through sin city with smiles on their faces – cause the Botox won’t let them frown. So brace yourself for double the drama, triple the heartbreak and seven times the fake boobies on The Hotwives of Las Vegas.
