Honey 3: Dare to Dance comes out on Blu-ray combo pack and Digital HD today and is a lot more fun than one would expect. Honey 3 follows the adventures of Melea Martin (Cassie Ventura) who is admitted into aa prestigious dance academy in South Africa, unfortunately for Melea, she is unable to afford tuition and is expelled from the school.
Melea decides to reach out to the community for help, only to cause problems between rival crews as the dance routines heat up. It is full of modern movements mixed in with traditional South African dances that give Honey 3 it’s flavor.
Although, it was unnecessary to make this sequel, what made it fun was that it is a reminder of Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo. The dance numbers are extremely fun and well choreographed, the music is infectious and it’s loaded with a lot of pretty people dancing seductively. The extended dance numbers would have been nice to have been included in the final cut of the film, but it makes sense to keep them as bonus features so you don’t have to go searching for them if you want to learn specific moves or routines.
The movie has romance, conflict and resolution. Everything you want in a 95 minute movie that will put some pep in your step. The best part, you don’t have to watch the first two to enjoy this third installment.
