In the months and weeks leading up to the premiere of Daredevil on Netflix, the only glimpses we saw of The Man Without Fear were in the black ninja outfit that the character would wear throughout a vast majority of the series. Though I kept asking myself why they’d withhold the image, when I finally reached the season’s conclusion and saw the costume for myself it all became quite apparent – the costume didn’t look that good. Now that the series has hit and most people have had a chance to seclude themselves for a weekend in order to acquaint themselves with the underworld of Hell’s Kitchen, Netflix and Marvel have finally unveiled still that reveal the costume in all its underwhelming glory.
Ahhh, that’s where they got the design for Daredevil’s costume. pic.twitter.com/H1rhhIg4De

Seriously, the costume looks like a Toy Biz action figure from the ‘90s. Despite a few minor gripes, I greatly enjoyed Daredevil but the costume is without a doubt the most underwhelming aspect of the series. The Ben Affleck costume from the 2003 movie looks far better, and I never cared for that pleather costume either. While the costume certainly misses the mark, don’t let that discourage you from watching what is otherwise a fine series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Luckily, the costume only appears towards the end of the finale, so it’s not like the costume is an omnipresent distraction.
