Dr. Psycho (Tony Hale), Clayface (Alan Tudyk), Harley Quinn (Kaley Cuoco) and King Shark (Ron Funches) are packed in tight for dinner in Mr. Freeze’s (Alfred Molina) lair.
Harley Quinn (Kaley Cuoco) fights sexism and the cold as she sets out to kill Mr. Freeze (Alfred Molina) with of King Shark (Ron Funches), Clayface (Alan Tudyk) and Dr. Psycho (Tony Hale) after the nefarious fiend froze her in a block of ice leaving her to die in a previous episode.
While this is going on, Poison Ivy (Lake Bell) has gotten engaged to Kite Man (Matt Oberg) who is a bigger bridezilla than she would have ever expected, especially with his continued rivalry against The Condiment King (Tudyk)
Mr. Freeze moves on to human trials in order to save his wife, which Harley Quinn, in order to save her own life, contacts Poison Ivy to help them out. All this in the hopes that she will get to kill Mr. Freeze after completing her task. What can we say? We all know she’s nuts, but a weird, lovable nuts.
Kite Man (Matt Oberg) and Poison Ivy (Lake Bell) plan their wedding.
I seriously have no idea how after a season and a half of Harley Quinn that I am still confused about my feelings regarding this series. I enjoy it for the most part, sans the excessive cursing, but it’s interesting that only Harley is the one with the potty mouth. I think that might be the appeal of the whole thing. I mean King Shark is the voice of reason? Clayface, a hopeless romantic? Dr. Psycho actually level headed? It’s totally quickie in an animation style that is enjoyable.
Hell, it even pokes fun of “woke” culture by being woke about being woke. I might be in the minority who like Birds of Prey, but this goes long the same lines of that film and for that, I am grateful. Frankly, being a DC guy, I wish more of the films were as colorful as this cartoon, even with it’s dark undertones.
Harley Quinn streams Fridays on the DC Universe app.
