Editor’s Note: The Spoilers are not in depth as Lucha Underground has not yet aired on the West Coast.
As Executive Producer and owner of the El Rey Network, famed director, Robert Rodriguez played with his band Cingon, all hell broke loose for Mil Muertes and Catrina with the return of Dario Cueto and his brother, the monster Matanza, who not only captures the Lucha Underground championship, but also control of the temple, which leads to a lot more mayhem for the roster.
During last week’s Aztec Warfare 2, Pentagon Jr. was not allowed to compete for a chance of winning the title, but this week, he confronted El Jefe, nearly breaking his arm in the center of the ring, which granted him a title match against Matanza! Pentagon Jr. continues to show that he has zero fear and as a disciple of Vampiro, it’s no surprise.
During the first match of the night, Johnny Mundo and Taya, took on The Crew, but it was Mundo’s cowardliness that had him throw Taya to the wolves as he avoided Cage who made an uninvited appearance ringside that cost the flashy due their match against the Los Angeles natives.
Marty “The Moth” Martinez is no longer flying solo as he now has help from his sister, Mariposa (Butterfly in Spanish) to destroy Sexy Star and The Mack.
The second match is underway as Ivelisse, Angelico and Son of Havoc, who recently regained the Trios Championship must defend against The Disciples of Death with Catrina. This is an elimination match as Ivelisse is the first to be eliminated after a valiant effort but a distraction from her rival Catrina, allowing Trece to eliminate her, but it Angelico who takes him out to even the numbers up.
Unfortunately, Barrio Negro eliminates Angelico, leaving Son of Havoc to take on both El Sinestro de la Muerte and Barrio Negro. Catrina however interferes almost costing Son of Havoc the titles after he eliminated Barrio Negro. Ivelisse had enough, beating up on Catrina and allowing to Son of Havoc to defeat El Sinestro de la Muerte in order to retain the titles for the unlike team.
We return to El Jefe’s office after the Trios match where Cueto has a chat with Rey Mysterio Jr. Mysterio is looking for vindication for his fallen mentor who he believes fell at Matanza. They two toast to Dragon Azteca as Mysterio and Dragon Azteca Jr. will have their day in the ring.
Accompany to the ring by The Mack, Sexy Star faces off against Mariposa, who is walked out to the ring by her brother, Marty “The Moth” Martinez. Sexy Star is hesitant all throughout the match as Martinez has done some serious psychological damage to her as Mariposa defeats Sexy Star with the Butterfly Effect.
Unfortunately for The Mack who checks on his friend is attacked by the sibling duo and left for the stretcher in the center of the ring.
It is now time for the main event of the evening. Pentagon Jr. has his date with the devil as he faces Matanza for the Lucha Underground Championship!
Pentagon Jr. shows no fear against the monster, no matter what the challenger does, he still cannot take the monster off his feet. The crowd is clearly behind Pentagon Jr. as Matanza manhandles throughout the stands and attempts to take his mask off, which is considered a disgrace in lucha libre. Matanza makes quick work of the challenger to retain his title.
Vampiro is irate as his he calls for the medics, but before they could show, the monster has his way with the dark disciple.
