Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- is the 5th main game, or 16th overall, in the Guilty Gear franchise. Guilty Gear is one of the few fighting games that I truly believe rivals Street Fighter in terms of gameplay. It uses a similar control scheme but, I believe, does better with forcing players to change their tactics when playing with or against other characters. The only character in Street Fighter that really has a different play style is Zangief. I love the Street Fighter franchise, but other than the cross-overs all the characters play the same. Guilty Gear actually has distance characters aside from the typical straight up, quick, or heavy fighters. It is a refreshing change of pace, that is familiar enough to feel comfortable but new enough that it feels unique. It’s like going from Jordan I’s to Air Forces.
