‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ Comes Home on August 1st

The final installment of the Guardians franchise, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3‘ comes home on 4K, Blu-ray and Digital HD on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

In the final installment of James Gunn’s Guardians franchise, and quite possibly the last good Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3‘ comes home on 4K, Blu-ray and Digital HD on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

Gunn had managed to make an M-Level Superhero team exciting, humorous and single-handedly revitalized the motion picture soundtrack.

Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) in dealing with losing the love of his life now faces a variant of Gamora (Zoë Saldaña) in what would leave any man a wreck, knowing that she isn’t your love, but looks and behaves just like her. It reminds me of the stories of my maternal grandfather who was orphaned and left to be raised with my great grandmother’s identical twin sister at 4 years old.

Rocket (Bradley Cooper) discovers he is an experiment in the worst case of animal abuse across the universe and Adam Warlock (Will Poulter) doesn’t make their lives any easier.

Somehow in all the layers of tragedy and loss, James Gunn is still able to give us humor, hope and action for our loveable heroes who were the surprise hit of the MCU. During the era where the Guardians were nothing more than a joke team in the comics with a handful of fans, Gunn and crew made a talking tree that could only say three words one of the most endearing characters in modern cinema.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3‘ is by far the best of the franchise, but in a world that is reeling from superhero fatigue via the MCU that over extended its reach by cranking out too much, too soon and not allowing anticipation to build, nor give us good stories beyond a message of, “inclusion,” that sacrificed politics for quality. My ancestry has never been featured in an MCU or DCEU project and yet I can still related to Quill’s suffering. I am not a raccoon, but Rocket is relatable to all who have suffered, whether physical or mental abuse.

James Gunn out did himself with ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3‘ and should be praised for his work on this project.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3‘ comes home on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
