The Gray Agents are looking to replace the Green Lantern Corps as the official intergalactic police force and they way they are going about it is to bring in the perceived fugitive, Hal Jordan who took the wrap for destroying the corps to save face for the Guardians.
The problem is that pride can be mistaken for will and Green Lantern has become engulfed in his own pride that Hal Jordan is ceasing to exist becoming an all encompassing green light, almost turning into the central power battery himself.
Green Lantern 52 is more of a prelude to Rebirth, what transform Jordan will change the DC Universe forever and in that change we can only hope for more great stories. This is a transitional story rather than a stand alone, but the hubris that is Green Lantern will definitely lead to exciting times.
