The Final Fantasy XV universe stole the show at Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016, with new reveals and humongous in-game updates throughout the course of the expo.
During the special onstage presentation by game director Hajime Tabata, he revealed the “wait mode,” an in-game option that allows players to gain strategic advantages by momentarily pausing the action making the game easier to play for those who aren’t well versed in fast-paced action games. While in “wait mode,
” players can freely target, aim magical spells, select teammate abilities and so much more. This mode can easily be switched on and off at any point during the game.

Square Enix also revealed A Kings Tale which is a retail exclusive for Xbox One and Playstation 4 for those who pre-ordered through GameStop. A Kings Tale takes place in a fairy tale told by King Regis to a young Noctis, the story is set 30 years before the main game and features a retro-style inspired graphics that’s centered around Final Fantasy XV fast-paced combat system. The battle system blends attacks, magic, mighty summons and unique companion attacks into a singular gaming experience through three diverse locations in the Final Fantasy XV world.
