What was your first Cosplay Experience?
The first time we entered a cosplay competition was our first real experience. It was at Wizard World Comic Con in Austin, Texas in the fall of 2014. We cosplayed as Oerba Yun Fang and her Eidolon Bahamut from Final Fantasy 13. We had the privilege of being stopped on stage to talk to Jason David Frank about our creations. We had never done anything like that in front of so many people and it was a defining moment for us.

How long have you been Cosplaying?
We have been dressing up our whole lives. For anything from Halloween and costume parties to Relay for Life events and Vacation Bible School with our church. We also spent a lot of time dressed up in line at movie premiers for Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. Cosplay wasn’t a word we were familiar with until we attended our first Comic Convention. Our first real cosplay built for the purpose of competing was Fang and Bahamut in 2014 and they took us about a month to complete.

What is your favorite cosplay you have worn/created?
Star Lord(or lady) and Ronan have been our favorite so far. It was fun since they are movie characters with defined personalities and everyone knows who they are. It’s very easy to become those characters and people love to play along. It was great to be able to have “dance offs” all day with each other and some really fun strangers.

If you had unlimited resources, what Cosplay would you create?
With unlimited resources we would create something completely foam free! I think we really enjoy doing things as a team so it would be great to be able to make some high quality X-Men characters before Apocalypse comes out. Most likely Archangel and Mystique.

What advice would you offer others trying to break into Cosplay?
Don’t get discouraged if something doesn’t work out. Tutorials are great but it takes a few tries to get things to work for your specific piece. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of different materials out there you can use for cosplay. Find one you like ( and can afford), and practice with it. Master it, and use it to your advantage. Buy more than what you think you need, make extra, and take extra to Cons with you! Being prepared is important.
