What was your first Cosplay Experience?

My first cosplay experience was at comic con in 2009 I was 12 years old. I dressed up as a Jedi Padwan. I wore all brown and had a cloak that was so large on me it dragged on the floor. It was so bad at one point someone stepped on it and I fell flat on my face! I also had a light saber but because It was so heavy I kept holding it over my shoulder and every time I’d turn around I’d accidentally hit someone. Nobody was super happy with me that day but I had a blast!
How long have you been Cosplaying?

I’ve been seriously cosplaying for 4 years now, though I’d dress up for fun sometimes before I really knew what cosplaying was.
What is your favorite cosplay you have worn/created?

My favorite cosplay has to be my Lara Croft. She was my first serious cosplay and I’ve updated that cosplay at least 4 times. The makeup I do is different every time depending on the look I’m going for because she gets beat up different times in the game. So it never really gets boring doing it over and over again. Not to mention Lara Croft is a childhood hero of mine and its one of the best feelings being able to “be her.”
If you had unlimited resources, what Cosplay would you create?

I’m pretty sure I would Maleficent. I love the look from the new movie and it’s always been a dream of mine to have wings. I’d figure out a way to move them or just have them open up.  Her look is beautiful and id get to have horns also! The cost of it is what has kept me from making this cosplay, but I will be making it in the future!

What advice would you offer others trying to break into Cosplay?

My advice to people trying to break into cosplay would be just have fun. Your first cosplay isn’t going to be amazing, but it’s a learning experience and you can only grow and get better. If something is holding you back all I can say is Just do it! I promise you won’t regret it, but I must warn you, if you become hooked on cosplay there’s a possibility you’ll become broke because you spent all your money on it! So get out there and cosplay! 😀
