In this new trailer for the biopic, Straight Outta Compton, we get a much better glimpse into the lives of N.W.A., and the city that informed and inspired their rhymes. Compton was a dangerous city for a young black man, and NWA used their lyrics to shine a light on the troubles and tragedies they faced. And proved once again that the American public can’t handle the truth if it isn’t whitewashed, making N.W.A. infamous at the time, and still relevant today.
Starring O’Shea Jackson Jr., Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell as Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and Eazy-E, Straight Outta Compton is directed by F. Gary Gray and produced by original N.W.A. members Ice Cube and Dr. Dre. Straight Outta Compton is in theaters August 14th.
