Even after twelve years since the last DragonBall Z movie was released, fans still can’t get enough of their favorite Z Fighters. As a sequel to last year’s Battle of Gods, Resurrection F was shown for an early premiere at Regal Cinemas right next to the Los Angeles Convention Center for Anime Expo. Fans should be excited to finally watch a DragonBall Z movie that has done what no other movie, special, or episode has.
The premiere of DragonBall Z: Resurrection F began with celebrities such as the voice actors for Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza walking through the red carpet. Inside fans could take pictures with the move poster background and be given a photo instantly. A highlight was when the hostess asked, “Who is better, Vegeta or Goku?” Goku fans provided all the common arguments, but a Vegeta fan ended it all with one simple line, “Vegeta raises his kids.”
DragonBall Z: Resurrection F is the second DragonBall Z movie to have a theatrical release in the U.S. and it lives up to the hype. Resurrection F sets up round two of the epic fight between Goku and Frieza with an ending that will leave viewers satisfied.
“DragonBall Z: Resurrection F brings back the art in martial arts.” – Kevin Fenix.
While DragonBall Z is known for the high-speed battles that the human eyes can’t see, the movie takes the time to show the techniques unique to each character. Each Z fighter is given their own respective moment to show that they can still hold their own. One Z Fighter unleashed a one-inch nail punch that would even make Bruce Lee proud.
Bulma and Vegeta have the best one-liners of the movie and reminding us why we fell in love with the series. Even during an epic battle to protect Earth, there is still time to yell at the God of Destruction and offer him an ice cream sundae.
My biggest gripe is that after years of build-up, a Z Fighter gets robbed of his shining moment. However, Resurrection F does what no episode or movie has ever done, and that is exploit Goku’s weakness.
Resurrection F lives off the hype from Battle of Gods and provides what the last movie didn’t, a finishing blow. DragonBall Z: Resurrection F is the epic movie DragonBall fans have been waiting for and will blasts its way into U.S. theaters on August 4 for a limited release. Make sure to stay for after the credits!
