Funimation acquires theatrical distribution to new Dragon Ball Super: Broly, the 20th film of the franchise set to release 2019
Funimation acquires the rights for theatrical distribution of Dragon Ball Super: Broly!!! Dragon Ball Super: Broly will be the third film of the Super franchise, and the 20th in Dragon Ball history. Funimation is set to release the film in theaters across the U.S. and Canada in January 2019. Funimation is also joining the Seven-City Dragon Ball North America Tour 2018 to Promote the New Film from Original Create Akira Toriyama.

Since premiering in summer 2015, “Dragon Ball Super” has propelled the popularity of the franchise globally – with both lifelong fans and a new generation of children and teens. The last Dragon Ball film, “Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F'” (2015), was a box office hit – grossing $8M in North America to become the first independent film to make the Top 10 list of highest grossing anime films domestically.
