In this final installment of Matt Smith’s tenure as The Doctor (Dr. Who in the classic series credits), Matt Smith along with his Companion, Clara (Jenna Coleman) orbit a backward planet trying to learn the secrets of the universe while trying to save Christmas.
The bonus features are the real tear jerks as Whovians say goodbye to Smith. The one-hour documentary, Farewell to Matt Smith is narrated by Alex Kingston, the famed River Song in the series looks back at Smith’s adventures as The Doctor, along with his cast members, the writers, producers and guest stars celebrating Doctor Who as a whole. You’ll probably want to watch this one twice, because your tears will be louder than the audio.
Tales of the TARDIS, is another documentary looking back at the 50-year history of The Doctor. Past Doctors, David Tennant, Sylvester McCoy, Colin Baker, Peter Davison and Tom Baker recall what it was like to be The Doctor, how they got the job and the impact the series has had on their lives. The Companions make an appearance as Jenna Coleman, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill share their insights into the longest running Sci-Fi series.
Christmas is here with the last of the documentaries of this series finale as Whovians are taken Behind the Lens. This is tithing of good cheer and good will busts out the tinsel at the Oswald’s and meet with a familiar enemy in a new form. The Doctor makes a new friend in Tasha Lem.
Goodbye Matt Smith, Whovians everywhere will miss you.
