The creators of the fan-favorite Nightmare on Elm Street and 30 Days of Night franchises are teaming up.
The Hollywood Reporter, well, reports that Wes Craven is in the process of acquiring the rights to Steve Niles and Christopher Mitten’s upcoming sci-fi horror series The Disciples.
The ghost story set in space has been tapped by Universal Cable Productions (Being Human, Defiance), with Craven set to executive produce alongside Sara Bottfeld and Black Mask Studios co-founders Matt Pizzolo, Brett Gurewitz, and Steve Niles.
At this point it seems that Craven is not writing or directing the series, and in fact there is little news other than the preceding sentences. This will be Craven’s first foray into television since Nightmare Cafe‘s one season in the early ’90s. This will be Niles’ second TV adaptation, with his series Remains being a 2011 TV movie.
The Disciples‘ first issue is coming to comic shops in May. We’ll have more news as it comes in.
