DIM MAK x Snake Eyes

With Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins release only a few days away. Paramount Pictures and Hasbro have teamed up with Dim Mak, Steve Aoki’s indie record label and fashion brand, to exclusively drop the official DIM MAK x SNAKE EYES collaboration to celebrate the theatrical release.

SNAKE EYES: G.I. JOE ORIGINS, based on the Hasbro G.I. JOE franchise, opens only in theaters, Dolby Cinema, and IMAX on July 23, 2021. The movie stars Henry Golding (“Crazy Rich Asians”), Andrew Koji (TV’s “Warrior”), Úrsula Corberó (TV’s “Money Heist”), Samara Weaving (“Ready or Not”), Haruka Abe (“Late Shift”), Takehiro Hira (“Yasuke”), and Peter Mensah (“The Scorpion King”) with Iko Uwais (“Stuber”).

The DIM MAK  x SNAKE EYES collaboration features five designs, which are all black as a nod to the Snake Eyes character’s signature black ninja gear layered with Arashikage symbols and exclusive art from the film.

You can see the designs below:

There are two short sleeve T-shirt styles, one that features Snake Eyes and another featuring his archrival, Storm Shadow (both $38).

The collection also includes the Katana long sleeve tee ($45),

Arashikage Crew Neck Sweatshirt ($70),

and the Double Dragon Hoodie ($80).

The collection highlights the intersection of Steve Aoki’s American upbringing and Japanese heritage through five stealthy and sleek designs. A child of the 80s and 90s, Aoki only had a handful of Asian characters on American TV to relate to. However, nestled among his favorite after-school shows, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero featured one bad-ass super soldier and an Aoki favorite: Snake Eyes – the mysterious, elusive, and silent ninja. Snake Eyes proved finally that a lone ninja warrior could save the day, be an integral team leader, and a real American hero.

“I loved watching how Snake Eyes was the secret weapon to the G.I. JOE team when I was young – he would swoop in and save the day with just his sword and ninja skills,” said Aoki. “I always wondered what his backstory was.  When this opportunity arose to partner with Hasbro and Paramount on the origin story of Snake Eyes, I was amped on getting to know how my favorite super soldier became so incredible. I am looking forward to watching the movie and seeing how Snake Eyes is trained by the Arashikage in Japan.”

The DIM MAK x SNAKE EYES collaboration will be available starting Tuesday, July 20th, 2021 exclusively at www.dimmakcollection.com. [via Paramount Pictures Press Release]
