‘Design By Humans’ Subscription Box Brings Wearable, Original Art to Your Doorstep

GameStop, Inc.

It seems like everyone is doing a mystery box these days, whether it be toys, beer, clothing and everything in between.  I like to think a lot of the popularity stems from our desire to win something, to gamble and come out with the better end of the situation.  We have taken a look at other products from Design By Humans, so I asked nicely, and they obliged, if I they would send over one of their monthly subscription boxes.

Each month the Design By Humans Collector’s Box features two limited edition T-Shirts from talented artists from around the world.  So not only do you get something cool and original, but you are also helping local artists instead of more money being dropped into the coffers of department stores.  The box that we received was Monsters, featuring colorful and stylish representations of Dracula and a Werewolf on the prowl.  From the mind of world-renown artist BeastPop we got Blood Moon, now I am terrible at naming colors but as you can see in the picture above it dabbles in everything from pinks to reds.

The second T-Shirt in the box comes from the mind of Medusa Dollmaker, a self-taught illustrator known for her stunning illustrations of women and the macabre.  Pictured below, this shirt was my favorite of the two, which is odd considering red is my favorite color.  But it did remind me of my long hair, head banging youth. This shirt makes me want to break out the flannel (wait do I still have any) head down to the Palladium and get my ass handed to me in the mosh pit (I am almost 40 now).

Another thing I would like to touch on is Design By Humans as a company, we have reviewed several things from them now.  Each item was high quality and not something I have seen on store shelves.  Like the Batman T-Shirt from a previous article, yes it looks similar to others available, but the Bat Symbol has a fraying and distressed look that I really liked and have not seen before.  I have been impressed with these small changes that helps them to stand out from the rest of the pack.  These artist created t-shirts are just another example of that effort.  One last thing about Design By Humans, their customer service has been exemplary.  This is always a concern for me when dealing with an online presence and a huge reason companies like Amazon have done so well.  They make the online ordering experience painless.  They have been there to answer my questions and provide support for all of the orders I have placed thus far.  They have not paid me to say this, I swear!  I believe in recognizing companies for things they excel at as well as pointing out opportunities for improvement, and Design By Humans has impressed me every step of the way.
