The Demon Slayer Movie, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train,is releasing on April 23, 2021 from Aniplex and Funimation

The world-renown series, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer), has been new film that his been slaying the box office in the Asia-Pacific region and is coming to North America. The film, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train (Demon Slayer Movie), is being brought to theaters nationwide in the U.S. and Canada Friday, April 23, 2021, from Aniplex of America and Funimation. The North American theater release will also include 4DX and IMAX screens. Tickets will be available starting April 9, 2021 at funimation.com/demonslayermovie.

On top of that, fans can also enjoy the film on Electronic Sell-Through (EST) beginning June 22, 2021. on Apple TV, the Microsoft Store, Vudu, Google Play, the PlayStation Store, and Amazon. Pre-orders for the film will being on April 26, 2021 on Apple TV, the Microsoft Store, and the PlayStation Store.

The film is set after the events of the television series, which is streaming on Funimation with both subbed and dubbed versions. The Anime series premiered in 2019 and is based on Koyoharu Gotoge’s manga which has sold over 150 million copies in circulation in Japan. Demon Slayer is an action-packed, thrilling tale about a boy named Tanjiro whose family was viciously slaughtered by demons, except for his sister, Nezuko. However, she was turned into a demon from the attack and Tanjiro has dedicated himself to finding a way to turn her back into a human.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train opened in Japan on October 16, 2020 and is now the highest grossing anime and Japanese film (animated or live action) of all time. The film opened on 403 screens (including 38 IMAX theaters), is the fastest film to achieve over $100 million at the box offices in Japan after only 10 days in theaters, and is the most successful IMAX release of all time in the market. The film opened at #1 in Australia and New Zealand last month. [via Funimation]
