Newton’s third law states: For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. When Barry Allen aka The Flash broke the time barrier to save his mother, something…someone was watching over them. Someone powerful enough to reassemble reality as he/she so wishes.
Those events after Flashpoint erased time, friendships, relationships…love. That turning point and manipulation is what gave us the New 52. However, benevolent beings who have god-like powers allowing them to walk on the sun cannot always override human or meta-human will. Everyone in life wants to be remembered, wants to be loved and the real Titan of this story gets that wish granted.
Creator Geoff Johns has officially lived the dream. He revived The Flash, he revived Green Lantern and he has revived the DC Universe. When The New 52 started to seem far too much like the alternative presented by the company that created the princess culture, DC Entertainment has finally found its way home.
“Rebirth is about focusing in on the core of the characters and their respective universe. It brings back what has been lost: the legacy of the characters, the love and the hope of the DCU!” said Johns.
In 1959, Julius “Julie” Schwartz single handed revitalized that comic book industry by ushering in the Silver Age. If all goes well and the stories of the Rebirth era continue to flow just as marvelously as this single 80-Page issue, then we are in for one hell of a ride!

The Verdict
Geoff Johns is officially the 21st Century Julie Schwartz! If the creative teams at DC Comics can continue the momentum of this one issue into the rest of the DCU then we are entering the Diamond Age of Comics.
