DC Entertainment has announced a new ongoing series, We Are…Robin by Lee Bermejo (Joker,Suiciders) will feature art from Jorge Corona, Rob Hanes, and Khary Randolph. It seems that hundreds of teens in Gotham City have taken the “R” for themselves and become the new Robins. “And they finally meet Batman himself…but is it everything they imagined it would be? And what will the Dark Knight think of them?”
Given past encounters between Batman and new would-be superheroes, I think we can answer those questions with “No” and “Not much,” but he will eventually relent and decide training them is better than watching them be killed. Also, the process is likely to be entertaining and hopefully will give us some memorable new characters. DC Entertainment promises a sneak peek of We Are…Robin on May 27th, with We Are…Robin #1 coming out June 24.
