Frank Castle comes to Hell’s Kitchen in this Daredevil season two trailer.
The first season of Netflix’s Daredevil series was a smash hit, and a second series was instantly greenlit. We knew that a second season would have to be even bigger, and I said Jon Bernthal as the Punisher would be a great way to do just that in my speculation piece last April. From what we see in this trailer I wasn’t wrong. The tagline “You’re one bad day away from being me” is about as apt as anything could be regarding the differences between these two vigilantes, a statement that season one showrunner Steven DeKnight has used to describe the Punisher since before the series even began airing.
There are arguments made by Foggy and Karen that Matt’s time as Daredevil may be responsible for Frank Castle’s visit to Hell’s Kitchen, but he’s not the only one who shows up. A second trailer focusing on Matt’s girlfriend from college will premiere in ten days.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Just when Matt thinks he is bringing order back to the city, new forces are rising in Hell’s Kitchen. Now the Man Without Fear must take on a new adversary in Frank Castle and face an old flame – Elektra Natchios.
Bigger problems emerge when Frank Castle, a man looking for vengeance, is reborn as The Punisher, a man who takes justice into his own hands in Matt’s neighborhood. Meanwhile, Matt must balance his duty to his community as a lawyer and his dangerous life as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, facing a life-altering choice that forces him to truly understand what it means to be a hero.
Daredevil returns to Netflix March 18th.
