‘The Bad Guy’, ‘The American Gangster’ the future Senator of Oregon, UFC Legend and Hall of Famer, Chael Sonnen steps into his first movie with ‘Mojave Diamonds‘ available now on VOD and in limited release.
One of the greatest talkers in all of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) leaps out of the cage and on to the big screen with fellow legends, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in the new action flick, ‘Mojave Diamonds‘, written and directed by Asif Akbar.
Follows middle brother, Roy (Cerrone) who is a 90 Percenter, where if he just corrected that 10 percent of his life, he would be on easy street, but something always has to mess it up. Older brother Joe (Sonnen) is no help with constantly riding his behind pointing every screw up he ever makes with little hope for a course correction, which puts baby brother and G.I., Danny (Chris Maher) in the middle of all their problems.
All their problems arise, when Roy gets too cocky in an underground fight, losing a boat load of money for crime boss, Julian (Jackson) who forces him to go on an uncut diamond delivery to Mexico. Should be easy, right? Wrong. The diamonds are stolen and now Roy needs the help of his brothers to save his life one last time.
In speaking with Sonnen about his role in ‘Mojave Diamonds’, his dialogue seemed so natural and so, Chael, that we made reference to how much adlibbing was allowed for his character.
‘Mojave Diamonds‘ is a fun action film and although at times the acting is a little choppy, we are dealing with fighters that are stepping in front of the camera having to pull their punches when they know they can easily rip each other’s heads off if tempers flair.
‘Mojave Diamonds‘ is a fun, throwback action heist film that grabs you from the opening scene and never lets up. Akbar hits the ground 100 mph and never let off the gas.
‘Mojave Diamonds‘ is available now on VOD and in limited release.
