On this day, 32 years ago, the world was graced with The Transformers: The Movie theatrical debut. Celebrate its 32nd Anniversary and one night only return with SHOUT! Factory
Some of you might not remember -in fact, I don’t even remember (because I’m relatively young and wasn’t yet born)- but on this day 32 years ago the world was graced with The Transformers: The Movie theatrical debut. As you may know, SHOUT! Factory, Hasbro Studios, and Fathom events are bringing the film back for one night only on September 27th. Tickets are on sale now, and although the glorious event is 7 weeks away, seats are getting filled in a quickness. Now, there are entire generations who have not yet experienced a great Transformers movie in theaters. While the Michael Bay series is visually stunning, and I would say the first and third are good movies, the fifth being okay, the second being an over-the-top remake of the first, and the fifth being a non-sensical -OMG ROBOT DINOSAURS!- mess. I don’t think any of them were great movies. This is our chance to see a great Transformers movie in theaters! We can experience what those in 1986 experienced and share it with a new generation of fans. I believe, The Transformers: The Movie is one of those films that holds up over time. It is brilliantly written and performed, and it has been meticulously remastered, restored from the original film elements, and transferred in HD.
This is pretty much a huge plug, but I am genuinely excited for the event. These one night only events are huge nerd gatherings and a place where you can meet and interact with many like-minded fans. Also, you never know who’s going to show up. If you’re a fan of the movie going experience, and of The Transformers, you won’t want to miss out.
Tickets are available at FathomEvents.com and at participating theater box offices.
