Chicago native, Carlito Olivero Talks to Us About Escape Room: Tournament of Champions in theaters today.
Rising star, Carlito Olivero has two movies coming out this July, one being Domino: Battle of the Bones and the other opening today is Escape Room: Tournament of Champions.
The franchise now featuring Olivero has revitalized the psychological thriller the same way the Saw franchise did for slasher films, which is right up my alley, because I have always felt leaving the inevitable to the audience’s imagination was often far worse than what was presented on camera.
Olivero takes on the role of Theo, one of the new Escape Room contenders in a movie that messes with your mind, yet has so many vibrant colors that you are almost confused in how to react to the happenings of the film.
Theo (Carlito Olivero) gets jolted across the train in Columbia Pictures’ Escape Room: Tournament of Champions.
Official Synopsis:
Escape Room: Tournament of Champions is the sequel to the box office hit psychological thriller that terrified audiences around the world. In this installment, six people unwittingly find themselves locked in another series of escape rooms, slowly uncovering what they have in common to survive…and discovering they’ve all played the game before.
We spoke with Olivero about his love of the horror movie franchise, how he has become a staple within the genre, what it was like working with Snoop Dog and the late Tim Lestor Jr. in his other film being released this month and what his biggest fear would be in being trapped in an Escape Room.
